A collection of drawings, prints and boxes, inspired by seascapes and found object collected around the coast of Skye… from Fiskavaig to Tokavaig… Armadale to Ben Tianavaig… seaweed, stones, shells, skulls.
Caroline Riley has a studio in Commondale, North Yorkshire. Caroline draws inspiration from local landscape, dramatic coastlines, animals and bits and pieces collected on walks. She has been coming up to Skye for about 30 years and will be exhibiting her artwork at Aros from 1-26 May.
Originally trained in textiles and fashion at Winchester School of Art she worked for a number of years as a textile designer before moving to Yorkshire where she started pursuing her career as a painter. She has exhibited at Chandler Gallery, Leyburn; Scarborough Gallery; An Tuireann Arts Centre, Skye; RA Summer Exhibition; Ryedale Folk Museum; Maidenbridge Arts Centre, Nr Lancaster; Nuneaton and Bedworth Art Gallery ); Calder Gallery, Hebden Bridge; Candid Arts, Islington.
