Knott Cottages open their informal, organic garden between June and September for the public to enjoy. Perimeter hedging on this gently sloping, ½ acre site creates a tranquil oasis, with winding paths meandering through densely planted borders filled with a diverse range of perennials, annuals and shrubs. The house overlooks a sheltered bay with regular sightings of otters, sea eagles and harbour porpoises. There are separate vegetable and herb areas with raised beds and garden seating in several locations.
The garden is situated in an easily reached, particularly quiet and scenic area of Skye and 60% of the admission fees are donated to Crossroads, a local charity. Tea and homemade scones are served too, for those who are partial to a wee treat!
Location: 5 Knott, Clachamish, Portree, Isle of Skye
Open: 28 June – 14 September (Thursdays & Fridays), 2pm – 5pm
