If you are visiting the Isle of Skye and are looking for fine celtic jewellery, then Duncan House Jewellery Workshop and Gallery is the place for you.
The Duncan House gallery and workshop is located in the old Strathaird Steading on the Isle of Skye. The gallery is 11 miles down the single track road on the way to the breathtaking village of Elgol, through the magic shire of Torrin.
Garth Duncan has been making since 1972. Although his work is best recognised as Ancient Celtic knotwork and Pictish style, he also designs and makes many modern pieces. As a jeweller, he deals in fine diamonds, every kind of high quality gemstone and fancy setting techniques. He alloys his own gold and silver, works in platinum and a non-allergenic white gold alloy that is so white it needs no electro-painting. Commissions are accepted.
To reach the gallery, once you are on the island, head for Broadford on the A87. In Broadford take the B8083 road (marked as the A881 on some maps) – the junction is near the Broadford Hotel and is signposted for Elgol. Approximately 12 miles along this single track road, the Strathaird Steading is clearly visible set back from the the road on the right hand side. The drive takes about 30 minutes from Broadford.
