Quiraing
Located at the northern end of the Trotternish Ridge, the Quiraing is an area of the most unlikely rock formations, cliffs and scree slopes. The three most well-known formations are the table (a flat and grassy area slipped down from the summit plateau); the needle (jagged 120-foot pinnacle); and the prison (a rocky pyramidal peak, which – when observed from the right angle, can appear to be a medieval keep). The maze of rocks gives this area an almost magical feel, especially when the cloud is sitting low on the hills.
Perfect for photographers looking for that perfect shot, the Quiraing walk takes around two hours to complete (not taking stops into account) and offers spectacular views throughout.
