Sconser: A tiny crofting village through which passes the A87 Broadford – Portree road, it is most notable for being the departure point of the Skye – Raasay ferry.
Otherwise, golfers will know it for the 9-hole Isle Of Skye golf course, a mile east of the village. The club is somewhat unique in the world insofar as all the holes have Gaelic names to reflect the culture and history of the area.
