Individual galleries abound on the Isle of Skye, be they displaying watercolours, oil paintings, prints or, indeed photographs. Tucked discreetly away at the end of a single track road offering spectacular views is the Aird Old Church Gallery, featuring the work of renowned Watercolourist, Peter McDermott. Son of Scottish and Czech parents, Peter’s work is inspired, he says, by his uncle, Ladia, whose scenes of villages, ponds, mountains, rivers and snow-clad trees were a constant delight to his Czech mother. Apart from the exceptional collection of Peter’s work, the gallery also showcases handmade crafts by local makers.
The Gallery is open from Easter to the end of September. Click on the hyperlink above for full details and follow the links for further information.
