The Bright Water Visitor Centre was established to allow those that are unable to visit Eilean Bàn itself, a chance to learn about its cultural and natural history.
It is also the place to book tours and accommodation on the island, and a small retail area offers a selection of T-shirts, books, cards and other small gifts for sale.
You can book tours throughout the year, during the winter when the centre is closed please call or email us and we will try and arrange a tour to suite you.
Based in Kyleakin on Skye, the centre offers information on topics including Gavin Maxwell, the flora and fauna of the island, the lighthouse and local history (including stories in Gaelic and English).
It is a highly interactive centre with lots to see and do for all ages. Younger children for example have the chance to win prizes by correctly answering all the questions in Charlie’s Challenge. There are jigsaws, models, wooden animals and an animal sandpit to play with, plus a touch box, a food chain puzzle and lots of secret hiding places!
Although designed to promote a conservation message, the centre’s main aim is to be a fun experience for all the family.
